What kind of food to feed my Doberman mix puppy? Large breed or regular?

I just adopted a Doberman mix from a shelter. He can be mixed with Australian Shepherd. They think it is 5 months old and now weighs 21 pounds (yes, he is on the small side). I read that large breed dogs should be fed different puppy to grow too fast and not have problems with bones. I currently have it in great Innova Puppy Breed, but I'm not sure if it can be considered large breed. Should I keep it or change it in the regular puppy formula? Your vet gave me a bag of Smartlife shows Iams Large Breed Puppy (but the ingredients are crap) so I guess my vet him as a big race. Other dog food I have in mind are: Natural Balance Evo Blue Buffalo not want to feed food brands like Science Diet, Iams, Benneful, etc, after reading reviews of ingredients. Thanks!

It sounds like your dog to reach 50 pounds or more of what is considered a large breed dog. Whatever the weight was 4 months, if you double that number then you get a fairly good potential adult weight. Older dog health problems?

We have a German Shorthair Pointer 10 years who rescued a few years ago that has never been lately. She used to sleep all night without any problems, but lately has been waking 1-3 times every night to go out and go to the bathroom. She really has not changed in their diet and the vet's office performed tests on a urine sample and found no problem. Short of taking to the vet for a battery test, does anyone have any suggestions on how to change this if it is just a behavior problem or to determine what might be the cause? I forgot mention that she is fine all day and we both work 8 hours. She has not had any accidents in the house while we're at work.

well as you mentioned, the dog is becoming a bit old and perhaps can not help themselves. I suggest buying a crate / cage for her to stay over night. If you were to do this you need to get one big enough for him to stand and turn around. A dog very, very rarely used the bathroom, where he is or sleeps unless he just can not help. As mentioned, you do not want a large drawer. If too large a corner will be avoided.
